【LAOLAO】The real Thai kitchen in Tokyo! (Ebisu)

Hello everyone. This is Ushi reporting!

Few days ago a friend of mine told me about one Thai restaurant in Ebisu and since then I was looking for an opportunity to visit there.
Tonight with my friend Nori who lives in Ebisu area (He also writes this gastronomy blog sometimes so you may recognize him) I came here!

Its called “Thai Yatai LaoLao”, just a minute walk from JR Ebisu station east exit.

The entrance!

It was already nearly full when we arrived! Lucky to be able to be seated!

It’s small and cozy and I like this atmosphere. I have never been in Thailand but this is similar to the image that I have for Thailand xD

The kitchen is so near from us that we can watch inside!

Such a funny name! but it was truly super yummy!

The sauce has deep tastiness and the chili is a perfect accent! I wish to eat white rice with this sauce…

That’s why I ordered this.

'Thai sticky rice'¥290

I wanted to pour the sauce on the rice but Nori took this little portion of rice and

he dipped it into the sauce, telling me “This is the right way!”

I did not believe him but as I googled about Thai food, I found that he is right about it. Seems that in Thailand they make a rice ball like this and dip it into the sauce!

So I should try the same!

The texture is awesome! The seasoning is grate too!

We wanted to have hot pod as the main dish and had a look on the menu.

We got most interested in this one called “MuuGata”

'Muugata by LAOLAO'¥1350

This is fascinating! Coz we could enjoy in two ways! We could do Shabushabu the meat in the soup in the corner of the pod or grill the meat in the middle of the pod.

Two different types of sauce were served. ‘Green chili hot and sour sauce’ and ‘Red chili sweet and hot sauce’. I personally liked the red one better xD

This dish made us warm and it was a right choice for this cold winter evening.

We could totally understand why this place is so popular. Overall, it has been a fantastic dinner!

Thank you very much! LaoLao!
